Metal glasses and spectacles generally use the screw-on, push-on, or rimless slide-on type of nose pad or nose piece mount. These mounting methods are also commonly referred to as screw-in, snap-in, and rimless slide-in style mounts respectively. Although slide-on rimless mounts are most commonly seen in rimless metal frames, they are also popular in full rimmed metal frames as well.
Illustrated above are three popular round button shaped nose pads along with their respective mounting mechanisms.
For metal eyeglasses without nose pads, an eyeglass repair shop or experienced eyeglass technician can often modify or convert the bridge area of an existing pair of metal frames so that it is compatible with the desired type of nose pad mount.
