Each type of nose pad mount is incompatible with another type. For example, even though both a screw-on and push-on nose pad each has a thin rectangular flange on the backside of the nosepad surface, the flange of the screw-on nose pad contains a mounting hole used to secure the nosepad, whereas the push-on nose pad contains a solid snap-on type of flange.
